My motivation and inspiration

In short, my motivation and inspiration is and always will be the dogs, but this is two fold in that the people associated with the dogs are imperative to the formula.

Brief autobiography

I have been showing and training dogs in dog sports through AKC sanctioned events like junior handling, obedience and junior dog judging since I was seven years old. I won my first junior dog judging contest at the International Kennel Club Dog Show in Chicago and the Illinois State 4H Junior Handling Competition when I was nine. Agility came with the times, years later, and with a wonderful rescued Aussie named Rodeo. He earned his CGC without any effort, but his agility career was short lived due to illness. My passion for behavior "problem" solving came and grew with dogs like Levi, Taylor and the numerous rescues that have come through my revolving front door.

I consider myself unique in the canine behavior and training business for a multitude of reasons. First and foremost, I am affordable. I am an not costly and, though, I intend to make my living doing what I love, I don't expect to get rich. My hope is that people will actually be able to afford my resources and seek me out before they make final decisions.

Secondly, I have a lot of experience with every breed type imaginable from toy to giant. Even though it seems that dog trainers and behaviorists are a dime a dozen, there are very few who are able to effectively resolve problem cases. More often than not, their solution for the truly "difficult" cases is euthanasia. My suggestions are creative and certainly don't involve finality.

Lastly, I am a real individual; approachable and realistic. I have been there with my own dog, Levi, in the past, and have myself been met with "professionals" who repeatedly recommended euthanasia. I sought out Dr. Nicholas Dodman to Patricia McConnell without any effect or improvement. It wasn't until I began to devise my own consorted effort from a multitude of disciplines and influences that my life and my dogs' lives began to change for the better. I credit how I relate to dogs today to Larry Painter, Cesar Millan and my mom who has been a professional dog trainer since she was a teenager.

Technique and Training Style

Dogs are individuals, just like people; they do not deserve sterotype or prejudice any more than people appreciate such bias.  Therefore, my technique does not include a particular style; each dog is trained on an individual basis. I evaluate each dog's circumstances and personality then I temper my training style based on each dog's unique situation.
I have a broad background from traditional obedience to positive clicker training.
Each training situation is molded to fit your dog.
My style is unique in that it is broad utilizing all tools available so that I am tailoring it to fit the individual needs of your dog and your family.
